Dear Xaverians,

Our Annual Philanthropy day, the day we rededicate ourselves to the various charitable work we do around the year was celebrated with due reverence on August 25^th 2012. The day is dear to all of us for the fact that it also happens to be the birthday of our President, Rev.Fr. Dr. J. Felix Raj, SJ. Join me as I thank respected Father for allowing us to celebrate his birthday in the most befitting manner.

Thank you all who attended the programme and extended support to our causes. A big “Thank You” to the conveners – the holy trinity of Dharmen Trivedi, Harish Agarwal and Rajesh Agarwal. It will not be out of place to acknowledge and applaud the super human efforts of Mr. Yogesh Chopra the convener of Philanthropic Activities.

We will be celebrating the Teacher’s Day on the 5^th of September at the College Auditorium from 12 noon. The programme will be followed by Lunch. Members wishing to attend are requested to register themselves either in Room 5 (033 2280 5566)or contact the Convener Mr. G. P. Gupta (9831007850), Senior Vice President of SXCCAA .

The 26^th AGM of SXCCAA will be held on September 22^nd. Saturday at the College Auditorium from 5 PM onwards. Members are requested to attend – the details including the Notice, Audited Accounts and Secretary’s Report will be mailed to you within the next week and will also be uploaded in the Alumni Website. Members desiring to access hard copies of the documents can collect the same from Room 5 from next week.

“Disinvestment in India – Trends, Problems and Prospects”

His Excellency, Shri M.K. Narayanan, Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal will release the book of Fr. Felix Raj SJ, “Disinvestment in India – Trends, Problems and Prospects”, on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Xavier’s College Auditorium. This is the fifth book to the author’s credit.

Philanthropy Day & Presidents Birthday.

We will be celebrating the Birthday of our beloved President and the Principal of the College, Rev. father. Dr. J. Felix Raj, SJ on the 25th of August as the Philanthropy Day. The evening programme will be held at the Chowringhee Banquets at 60, Chowringhee Road, Kolkata.

The programme will be followed by Contributory Dinner. Passes @ INR 500 are available in Room 5 on a First Come First Served Basis.
