Alumni Association (SXCCAA)’s Bangaluru Chapter felicitated 5 outstanding
Xaverians and one fellow Jesuit Alumnus of other Jesuit College at its reunion
held at the Century Club, Bangaluru on Saturday last. Rev. Fr. Dr. J. Felix
Raj, Principal, St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and President, SXCCAA gave away
the awards. The youngest recipient was Md. Ali Amir who enrolled himself in the
Physics Hons at the age of 12 in the first autonomous batch in 2006 and is now pursuing
as Research Scholar in IISC, Bangaluru. Other awardees included Prof. Arindam Ghosh
of Physics Dept, IISC, Naveen Agarwal, renowned Business Advisor, Indranil
Roychoudhury, eminent Corporate Leader, Father Thomas George for Social Work
and the Fellow Jesuit Alumni Award went to famous Radio Jockey Darius Sunawala,
an ex-student of St. Joseph’s College, Bangaluru.
Father Felix Raj, in his
address, thanked the alumni/ae for their support in the expansion programmes of
the College. The Hony. Secretary of the SXCCAA Firdausul Hasan said that the
next international chapter of the association is going to be opened in Sydney,
Australia on 3 November this year. Huneid Toopiwala, Secretary of the SXCCAA’s
South India Chapter and Rudra Sankar Roy, the Convenor of the reunion, named as
‘XIA – Xaverians in Action’, also spoke on the occasion. More than 150
Xaverians from 1963 batch to the last year pass out attended the reunion with
their family members.
