On 23rd December, 2011, SXCCAA organised its annual re-union dinner 'Sangam' with the theme of 'green benches'. A replica of the same welcomed guests at the entrance, bringing back fond memories. The programme started early evening with the mellifluous saxophone tunes of Mr. S.Khan, a noted player of the instrument. The alumni, adhering to the theme, attended the function suitably attired, adding to the charm of the already alluring ambience of the evening. The opening comments were made by Reverend Fr. Dr. John Felix Raj, Principal of the college and President of the SXCCAA, a motivator par excellence, who called upon the alumni and exhorted them to carry on the legacy of the college. Fr. Provincial – Jayraj Veluswamyand Fr. Rector (George Ponodath) were present to grace the occasion. Distinguished guests like Hon. Minister Mr. M. Mitra, The Sheriff of Kolkata – Dr. Indrajit Chatterjee and eminent police officer Mr. Gautam Mohan Chakraborty were present at the occasion.
The interaction of 1200 people, young and old - from distinguished alumni to past and present professors, created sparks through the exchange of memories and happiness, thus invoking the quintessence of the evening – joyful reminiscences. The all-pervasive atmosphere of joie-de-vivre and particularly, the camaraderie between old pals were hard to miss.
The programme arena was decorated with a Christmas tree and beautiful lights. There was even a Santa Claus for the kids who had a great time enjoying themselves. Dj Harish lifted spirits with his energetic tracks, as old friends dragged one another to the dance floor. The food served by 6, Ballygunge Place was savoured by all, and each one left with a promise, to come back again next year, to the alumni dinner - the confluence of souls, memories and happiness.
